Heavy rain, storms continue across northern WA, NT
The monsoon continued to pack a punch across WA's Kimberley region and the NT Top End today. Heavy falls, often associated with thunderstorms, were reported overnight and through the day. A storm complex that developed over northeastern WA yesterday evening extended east into the NT overnight giving heavy falls northwest of Alice Springs. Vaughan Springs, 350km NW of the Alice, recorded 77mm to 9am, while Mount Allan, 150km east of Vaughan Springs, recorded 63.6. Another storm complex that developed under a broad area of upper divergence around Broome late this afternoon drifted southwest, giving Shelamar Homestead, 130km SSW of Broome, 130mm overnight into Monday.
