About Australian Weather News
Cold nights continue in the northeast
Overnight minima were again 6 to 12° below average over much of Queensland and the northern half of the Northern Territory this morning. Proserpine equalled its record May minimum of 5.0° set yesterday, while residents along the Qld/NT border shivered as the thermometer dropped to 3° at Camooweal and 4 at Mt Isa, both more than 10° below average. It was cold, too, in southeastern NSW where Canberra recorded its lowest May minimum since 1982 with a reading of -6°
