Heavy "dry season" rain in NT, Far North Queensland
Heat moves into SA
Moist air converging into a weak trough lying from NW NT to the Far North Queensland coast gave some heavy falls for September overnight. Alyangula, on Groote Eylandt in the western Gulf of Carpentaria, recorded 37mm for the 24 hours to 9am, its heaviest September one-day fall in 24 years of computer records. In the mountains behind the Queensland North Coast, Topaz recorded 42mm.

Daytime temperatures were between 8 and 12° above normal across most of South Australia today.
