Cold, wet in NT
The major cloudband making its way across the continent kept temperatures 6 to 9 below normal across southern and western NT and northern SA today, while rain and storms gave totals of 25 to 50mm in the Territory's north and south. Territory Wildlife Park south of Darwin recorded 49mm for the 24 hours to 9am from storms and rain areas associated with a trough that passed through yesterday, while Watarrka (Kings Canyon), 250km WSW of Alice Springs recorded 26.3mm for the 24 hours to 9am Wednesday from the main cloudband that crossed Central Australia today.
