![]() NEWSBITS: Storm brings heavy rain to Norfolk Island |
A cold front crossing southern WA brought several hours of heavy rain to the far southwest this morning, with a band of heavy rain moving across the area between about 6am and 2pm. The highest fall in the 24 hour period to 9am today was 63.4 at Forest Grove near Margaret River, while the highest for the 24 hours to 9am Tuesday was 86mm at Nannup, The heaviest rain fell over a period of only two or three hours. Bridgetown recorded 62.6mm for the 24 hours to 9am Tuesday. However 58mm was recorded between 9am and 3pm today at the post office with the automatic weather station recording 47.8mm between noon and 2pm. Witchcliffe to the south recorded 40mm in 3 hours to 9am. Thunderstorms were reported later in the day when the front moved east from Albany, but no thunder was reported with this mornings rain in the southwest. Newsbits: A storm dumped 45mm in the three hours to midday on Norfolk Island this morning. |
