Near record temperatures on Qld Central Coast
The City of Rockhampton and nearby areas in Queensland experienced near-record maximum temperatures yesterday and today. The airport maximum thermometer rose to 34.6° yesterday and 35.0 today, just short of the previous April record of 35.4, set in 1942. Other high temperatures for late April in the area were 35 at Clermont, 34 at Biloela, 32 at Gladstone and 31 at Yeppoon, the highest recorded at the coastal station in April since records began 8 years ago.
