Record-breaking July warmth in SA
July temperature records fell across central and southern SA today as the area experienced its warmest July day since 1975. The official Adelaide city site at Kent Town recorded its highest July maximum since records began 25 years ago with a top temperature of 23.1, though the old site in West Terrace recorded 26.6 back in 1975. Other locations with record making highs are listed below, though all have periods of record of less than 30 years. Temperatures across much of SA and into western NSW, SW Qld, southern NT and central eastern WA were 8 to 11 above average, with the greatest departures listed below.
