About Australian Weather News

Cold night over much of the northeast
A huge area of the continent experienced unusually low temperatures this morning. Most of inland NSW, Queensland and Northern Territory, and parts of NE South Australia, recorded minimum temperatures between 6 and 11 below the norm as cool dry southern air spilled northwards across the east of the continent. Coldest places, relative to average, were in a band from northwestern Queensland to the central Territory, with Ali Curang, Brunette Downs, Camooweal and Mt Isa all recording minima more than 10 below average. Tambo, on the Queensland Central Highlands, reported a low of 2.9, just above frost level.
