Hot across the western tropics
Pre-wet season heat is building up across tropical WA and NT with top temperatures today above 42° across parts of northern and western NT and central northern WA. Roebourne WA reported a maximum of 47, while Milingimbi NT, on a coastal island 450km east of Darwin, reached 38°, a December record and just 1.6° shy of its all-time top temperature.
