Torrential rain brings flooding south of Cairns QLD

Falls of up to 360mm on the coast and mountain slopes south of Cairns overnight produced major flooding in the Mulgrave River at Gordonvale today, with moderate flooding in the adjacent Russell River. The highest falls reported were 360mm at Bartle View Alert, 323 at Happy Valley, 317 at Topaz and 309 at Babinda PO.
