Strong wind, hail and temperature contrasts in SW WA

A front crossed SW WA this morning bringing a dramatic drop in temperature accompanied by heavy hail showers and strong winds. While Mullewa to the north of Perth recorded a top temperature today of 25.6, 7 above normal, Manjimup to the south had a top of just 11.6, 3 below. Swanbourne, near the coast west of Perth, recorded 6.2mm in 7 minutes in a sharp shower around 3.30am, but rainfall totals across the Southwest were generally below 10mm.
