Cold in SE QLD, NE NSW

Minimum temperature departures from average this morning. BoM

Very low overnight minimum temperatures were reported in parts of NSW and QLD this morning. In Brisbane's west, Amberley recorded a low of -2.5, just 2.4 shy of their all-time coldest temperature in over 60 years. Brisbane Airport, located right on the coast, recorded a minimum of 1.8, 1.2 above their all time lowest in over 50 years. On the NSW Northern Tablelands, Tenterfield's minimum of -8.5 was also just 1.5C short of a record. Low minima were a feature across much of the continent, with western NT still unusually cold.
