Wet, cold in western SA
Widespread frosts again in SE SA, VIC, southern and central NSW
Heavy dust on QLD central coast

It was SA's turn for cold, wet, stormy and windy weather today as the trough that menaced WA yesterday consolidated at the head of the Great Australian Bight before resuming an eastward movement. A significant band of rain and storms ahead of the low gave 15 to 20mm during the afternoon and early evening to Eyre Peninsula. Cloud cover moved across most of the western half of the state before dawn, keeping daytime temperatures exceptionally low, assisted by downdrafts from widespread thunderstorms. Most centres in the northwest, northeast, western and central northern districts reported maxima to 3pm that were 8 to 13 below average, with the Elliston observer commenting that the midday, 3pm and maximum to 3pm temperatures of 8.3, 9.2 and 12 respectively, were all records for the site.

Frost level temperatures similar in extent and severity to last Sunday's were again recorded over SE SA, most of VIC and all except coastal areas of southern and central NSW.

A heavy pall of dust in the air descended on the central QLD coastal town of St Lawrence today. The observer there reported heavy dust on a northerly wind with visibility down to 3km at 3pm and 4km at 6pm and 9pm.
