Heavy thunderstorm in Darwin

Hot in SA

Hot, dry northerlies ahead of an evening cool change gave central and SE SA maximum temperatures 8 to 13 above average today, with a top recording of 39.7C at Oodnadatta. Parafield, north of Adelaide, recorded 34.4, 13 above normal. The strong winds during the day raised dust, and averaged as high as 67km/h at Ceduna mid-morning.

Heavy thunderstorm in Darwin

An early morning thunderstorm dumped 37.4mm in 38 minutes to 2am on Darwin Airport for a 24 hour to 9am total of 46.4 in the AWS raingauge. Berrimah, 8km to the east, recorded 68mm in the 24 hours.
