Low level snow in TAS

Cold, moderately moist air moved over TAS overnight with the freezing level in the south dropping to around 900m and snow falling as low as 250m. Maydena (275m asl) in the upper Derwent Valley reported overnight snow falling, as did Strathgordon (322m asl) in the Southwest. At 9am, Tarraleah reported 2cm on the ground, while Lake St Clair reported 5cm and snow in the area lying down to the 400m level. Cradle Mountain airstrip, Tarraleah and Liawenee reported snow continuing through the day.
