NSW: Wild weather as low crosses Lord Howe Island

The low that gave widespread rain across QLD and the NSW northern coastline passed across Lord Howe Island, 800km ENE of Sydney, early this evening. A minimum pressure of 988.4hPa was recorded about 6.45pm. The low brought wind gusts to 104km/h at the airport's met station around 7pm, with a second anemometer at the airstrip recording a top gust of 121km/h. Rain started just before 2pm, with 73.4mm falling before it ceased about 10.30pm. 55mm fell between 3 and 6pm in a severe thunderstorm.
