Time

Daylight saving time operates in NSW, VIC, SA and the ACT from 2am on the last Sunday in October to 3am on the last Sunday in March. In TAS it operates from 2am on the first Sunday in October to 3am on the last Sunday in March. Legislation is currently before the parliaments in NSW, VIC, SA, ACT and TAS to harmonise the changeover dates to the first Sunday in October and the first Sunday in April.

WA introduced daylight saving experimentally during the summer of 2006/7 for three summers, running from the 2am on the last Sunday in October to the last Sunday in March. The QLD government has commissioned research to determine whether a referendum will be held during 2008 to decide whether daylight saving is introduced for the southeast corner of the state only from 2009.

The current situation is available here. WorldTimeZone provides a useful summary of Daylight Time changeover dates worldwide. (21/09/07)
