Follow these links for the BLUElink forecasts, background information on the project, and yesterday's press release announcing the new forecasts. Tuesday 26 June The Bureau has commissioned two new AWSs. The one at Hay in the NSW Riverina is notable in that it will do more than just transmit routine hourly or more frequent standard weather observations. As part of the Bureau's National Benchmark Network for Agrometeorology, it will record soil temperatures at several different depths. To access the reports, go to AWS Obs off the Current menu. The second AWS is at Wattamolla in the Royal National Park south of Sydney. It transmits wind data only, but this is available every 10 minutes and will be of great use in providing information on the timing and strength of Southerly Busters before they arrive in the city. To access the reports, go to the 10-minute observations and click on NSW. |
