WA heat moves east

A weak trough moved across the WA west coast this morning bringing milder light southerly winds to the Southwest. East of the trough, however, temperatures were 8 to 11 above average, with Esperance, Salmon Gums, Balladonia, Eyre and Eucla in the state's southeast all reporting top temperatures in the low 30s, over 11 above the May average. With a High weakening over SE NSW and the trough over western WA, a light northerly stream covers all of southern Australia spreading the unseasonable heat eastwards. Maximum temperatures across western VIC, southern NSW and SE SA today were mostly 6 to 8 above the average.
