Provisional records set or equalled today

Obvious errors have been corrected, however this is realtime data which has not yet been validated. Full validation of official records by the BoM Quality Management System (QMS) is a much more complex process and may take some months. Go here for further information on this records section and how the QMS works. These provisional records are based on data received as at 1414 EST on 01/06/2019.

1 S SUSPECT but hard to call - subsequently flagged Suspect by BoM QMS. My note at the time: There were severe, record cold temperatures for May on the Northern Tablelands and Darling downs (see below). Based on Ag Station's air minimum report of only -4.5 a grass minimum of -15.0 would be suspect even given recent very dry weather. However, nearby Glen Innes AP AWS reported an air minimum of -9.8 which is consistent with other minima in the area. It's therefore very possible -15.0 is correct and -4.5 is wrong. For comparison, Armidale manual station reported air minimum -5.5 and grass minimum -10.7 a difference of 5.2 which coincidentally is the same as the difference between -15.0 and the Glen Innes AP air minimum.
