Noteworthy weather today
significant newsworthy major

NSW: Some heavy coastal showers. A substantial southeasterly stream between a strong 1034hPa high south of TAS and a low off the NSW North Coast was stimulated by a weak trough off the southern half of the coast today. Thunderstorms brought some heavy falls to the South Coast overnight and the Illawarra coast and eastern Sydney metro area during this afternoon, though most of the rain came along a persistent narrow convergence line that lingered over the Ulladulla area overnight before moving into the Illawarra during the morning and on to Sydney during the afternoon. There was an unofficial report of 89mm in the 24 hours to 9 this morning at Lake Conjola.
