SE QLD, coastal NSW: Storms bring flash flooding and waterspouts. A trough brought severe thunderstorms during the evening. In Sydney there was flash flooding in eastern suburbs, with Rose Bay reporting 42mm of rain in 30 minutes and Observatory Hill 25.4mm in the hour to 6.30pm. Flash flooding from heavy rain was also reported at Narrabeen on the northern beaches, while two waterspouts were observed offshore from Coalcliff north of Wollongong. A storm at Grafton brought 23.4mm in 28 minutes, while in SE QLD, Calamvale in Brisbane's southern suburbs recorded 27mm in 10 minutes and Cape Moreton 5.4mm in 4 minutes.
