Noteworthy weather today
significant newsworthy major

Seasonal heavy rain continued across northern QLD today and down the coast as far as Mackay. Details are in wettest and downpours.

NSW: Flood peak moves towards Bourke

The flood peak in the Barwon/Darling system passed through Brewarrina last Monday with a reading of 5.88m, below minor level. It passed Bourke today with a reading of 8.66m, also below minor level. While it is more a fresh or flush than a flood, the flow is the best in the Darling for three years, and is causing excitement and fresh hope for farmers down the Darling, which has been reduced to a trickle during the drought.
