NEWSBITS

Thunderstorms that developed from the QLD Central Highlands to north of Brisbane during the early afternoon moved NE before dying out late evening. Several places recorded 30 to 40mm over an hour or two -- details in Downpours.

High temperatures were recorded during the day around the Head of the Bight with Eyre and Eucla recording top temperatures around 15C above normal.
