TAS: Windy and wintry

A deep low south of the state and a trough that crossed late morning gave TAS a wintry day. Snow fell down about 600m on the West Coast and Central Plateau mid morning, with 2cm accumulation reported at Liawenee and 1cm at Lake St Clair and Tarraleah at 9am. High wind gusts also accompanied the trough, reaching 135km/h at Cape Grim in the northwest and 124km/h at Maatsuyker Island and Scotts Peak Dam.

Newsbits

SA: Wintry showers give moderate falls around Adelaide: A succession of small but heavy showers crossed the SA coast in the 24 hours to 9am giving the highest totals in the Adelaide Hills. Ashton recorded 38.8, Cherryville 35.8 and Uraidla 30.0.
