AUS: Temperature extremes across the south

A heavy cloudmass drifting across northern NSW and southern QLD kept daytime temperatures 8 to 14 below the average in border regions today. Mungindi's 18.0 was 13.8 below. Light to moderate rain fell from the cloudmass, with scattered falls of 10 to 25mm in the western Darling Downs and Maranoa.

It was a different story around the Great Australian Bight, where top temperatures were generally 10 to 13 above normal. Ceduna nearly hit 40, its top temperature of 39.5 being 12.9 above average.
