SA, VIC: Fires continue to burn

Two fires that have been burning in the Ngarkat Conservation Park in SE SA for six days have joined, and have collectively burnt through over 19,000ha of bushland. The fire is currently contained within firebreaks, but is still burning. In VIC, a fire started by lightning on Friday east of Orbost in the Cape Conran Coastal Park had burnt through 640ha of bushland by late today. It was burning in country difficult to access, but was not threatening the nearest town, Bemm River, 10km to the east.
