Warm in the SE
Fog disrupts air, sea traffic in Sydney

Warm in the SE

Top temperatures were well above normal across VIC, TAS and eastern SA today as warm northerlies swept the area ahead of a strong cold front advancing across the Bight. In TAS, many locations recorded unseasonably high maxima in the mid 20s, with Maydena, in the upper Derwent Valley west of Hobart, topping the anomalies with 26.5, 10.6 above average.

Fog disrupts air, sea traffic in Sydney

Thick fog rolled east across the Sydney basin this morning, stopping ferries and causing at least one international flight diversion. All morning peak hour harbour ferry services were cancelled, with the ferry control room at Circular Quay reporting it couldn't even see the Harbour Bridge. Flights into Sydney Airport were disrupted with one international flight from Los Angeles diverted to Brisbane.
