Early snow along the NSW Tablelands
Bushfires continue in SE QLD

Early snow along the NSW Tablelands

Light snow continued to fall on the higher parts of the NSW Central Tablelands overnight and was reported from Guyra on the Northern Tablelands during the morning.

Bushfires continue in SE QLD

Strong winds hindered firefighting operations around Brisbane and north along the coast to Gladstone today. South of Brisbane, grassfires were brought under control at Beaudesert, Chandler and Jimboomba. A large fire burnt through 1,000ha at Glastonbury, 15km W of Gympie, destroying a massive amount of valuable pasture and threatening homes and farms. Comalco's aluminium refinery at Yarwun, just north of Gladstone, was also threatened by a fire that began shortly after midday and burnt through 50ha.
