Low level snow in TAS

Windy in WA

An active cold front pushed through southern WA today bringing showers and strong winds. Maximum gust recorded was 111km/h at Cape Leeuwin at 11.47, soon after the passage of the front.

Light low level snow in TAS

A low east of TAS thrust cold air northwards overnight, dropping the temperature at 850hPa (about 1,400m) to around -6°. Light snow fell as low as 280m asl at Maydena, while ice and snow again closed the Mt Wellington Summit Road at The Springs. Mt Wellington summit's temperature range today was -5.7 to -2.0.
