Strong gully winds cause damage in Adelaide Hills

Severe storms, possible tornado in southern WA

Severe afternoon thunderstorms uprooted trees near Tammin and Bruce Rock, around 200km east of Perth. A swathe of trees two kilometres in length was felled across a road near Kojonup in the Great Southern, while at Toodyay, 70km ENE of Perth, there was a report of a funnel cloud, heavy rain and hail to 3cm diameter.

Strong gully winds cause damage in Adelaide Hills

Strong, very squally SE gully winds started suddenly during the evening in eastern suburbs of Adelaide bringing down tree limbs onto roads and downing powerlines.
