Cold day in the Centre as rain, storms spread east

Low cloud and rain kept temperatures way below normal across Central Australia today, with Jervois, 400km ENE of Alice Springs, recording a top of only 19.0, 14.1 below normal. Birdsville and Alice Springs were also more than 10 below. Patchy rain and thunderstorms spread east across southern QLD and northern NSW, giving some heavy falls around Sydney and Brisbane -- see downpours below.
